Knit Wits

A group of enthusiastic knitters, some brand new to the hobby and others who are seasoned veterans. Not only do they knit for themselves they also knit for our troops and other worthy causes. The knit wits look forward to seeing new faces; new members of any age, gender, or ability are welcome. Be sure to join us every Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30AM in the Board Room. Green Table Connection

Do you love food? Do you value locally grown, organic food and produce and want to support local farmers? Do you desire to eat nutritious, well-balanced meals in the company of others with shared values of the importance of local, sustainable food? If you’re nodding your head, then consider this: A luncheon gathering that meets four times a year to enjoy preparing and then savoring delicious healthy lunches. Luncheons will consist of appetizers, salad, main course and dessert.

Write Loudly

Turn up the volume on your creativity. The only way to stay creative is to be proactive. What better way to accomplish your writing dreams than amidst a group of fellow writers? Improve your writing with prompts, tips and exercises. Discover how to express and market your writing talents in a relaxed atmosphere with fellow writers. Each class will begin with a short lesson in style, followed by in-class writing time and read-aloud period where writers will provide positive feedback for their peers. Writers will also work on long-term projects that will be reviewed and edited by the group.

American Classics

Join us in our tribute to American song under the direction of a professional vocal teacher. We will sing and occasionally perform a variety of music from the 1940’s through today. Bring your humor and your voice for light-hearted fun Wednesday mornings.

YMCA Book Club

The Westfield YMCA book club meets the first Wednesday of every month at 6:30PM. Please join us for a lively discussion with a diverse group of people. Our book club is free and delicious treats are provided. Look for a flyer in the bins next to the front desk fot the title each month. Watercolor Demystified

Experiment with palette and brush; learn basic watercolor technique including drawing, perspective, composition, lighting and brush techniques and mixing colors.

Introduction to Art: Mixed Media

This class will introduce students to beginning art skills and tools. In this activity-based studio art class, the students will be introduced to clay, drawing, painting, collage and more and will also learn color theory; primary and secondary, cool and warm colors. Students will be given the opportunity to explore, create, and achieve. Part of each lesson, the students will learn about artists, art appreciation and history.

Saturday Beginning Arts Class

A fun new class for the younger ones. Children will discover the world of art through basic materials and techniques. They will explore color, shape, and texture while drawing, painting, cutting and more! This class is a great opportunity to both help children succeed in the classroom and prepare children for the classroom setting. The children will be able to express their creativity through guidance and will be encouraged to expand their imagination while listening, learning and sharing. Part of each lesson, the children will learn about artists, art appreciation and history.

Rhythm and Rhyme: A Parent and Child Musical Experience

Share your love of music with your child! Each age appropriate 30 minute class will include finger plays, songs,
simple dances and fun with rhythem instruments to help your child develop language, social, fine motor and gross
motor skills in a warm and lighthearted environment designed to engage and spark your child’s imagination.
